Travellers arriving in the Algarve through Faro’s international airport can now enjoy a stay at the city’s first five-star “urban chic” hotel.
Located only 15 minutes from the airport, in the quieter pedestrianised area of town, 3HB Faro offers guests a luxurious base from which to explore historic Faro, the local culture, the Ria Formosa lagoon and its islands, and surrounding beaches and golf courses.
The new hotel includes modern suites, meeting rooms, and a spa with a heated indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath, water jet massages, sensory showers, treatment rooms and gym. The gym is outfitted with high-performance Technogym equipment.
Within 3HB Faro there are two restaurants. One is the rooftop Habito, offering gourmet cuisine inspired by traditional dishes based on the local culture of healthy and sustainable food, with the addition of a distinctively Mediterranean touch. Diners are taken on “a culinary journey of Algarve flavours, especially those that we can find right in front of us, in Ria Formosa – from oysters to clams, from anchovy to razor clams, salicornia and fleur de sel”.
The other restaurant, Forno Nero, is inspired by Italian cuisine and offers a more relaxed atmosphere as well as direct entrance from the street. Also on the rooftop is an outdoor infinity pool overlooking the city and Ria Formosa nature park.
The contemporary design and décor – featuring a minimalist aesthetic complemented by informal wood tones – is the work of Paulo Lobo, known for the touch of magic he gives to his creations, especially in the lighting and choice of materials.
All rooms have obtained Turismo de Portugal’s “Clean & Safe Stamp”, and are “prepared with all necessary prevention and control measures in order to ensure the maximum safety and well-being of our guests, staff and partners”.
