Visitors to the Algarve will be able to “bath” themselves in pink this summer. Due to open on 22 July and continue until 15 September, My Candy Beach is described as the “most Instagrammable news of the summer”.
A creative space with exclusive facilities dedicated to the four senses, My Candy Beach is a sub-brand of The Sweet Art Museum and it is being set up in a partnership with Japanese restaurant Doma.
Located in the heart of Vilamoura, the lounge, bar and leisure area is inspired by Miami’s beach bars and London’s pink coffee shops, and decorated with reinvented Art Deco elements and emblematic pieces from The Sweet Art Museum.
It comprises more than 500 square metres of outdoor space, with 50 seats distributed for lunch/dinner, and several lounge areas for enjoying artisanal ice cream and signature cocktails. Exclusively created for My Candy Beach by Doma, the menu “promises a journey into the world of Asian flavours”.
According to Carla Santos and Hugo Silva, founders of The Sweet Art Museum, “We want the My Candy Beach space to once again convey a feeling of happiness and awaken that rare emotion when you discover a surprising and fun place while enjoying a cocktail, enjoying an ice cream or even a meal.”
Adds Pedro Afonso, owner of the Doma Vilamoura group, “We’re going to add a little candy and bring another series of new flavours to our sushi, which already conquered so many appreciators. It will undoubtedly be a differentiating experience not to be missed this summer.”
A special menu is being prepared for children, My Candy Beach is pet-friendly, and it can be booked as a space for events and private parties.
It also “complies with and respects all the norms and guidelines of the Directorate-General for Health”, which means its opening times and operations could be affected by COVID-19 developments and any new protocols established by health authorities for the Algarve region. Currently, My Candy Beach’s proposed opening hours are 12 noon to 11pm.
