Ryanair is celebrating 20 years of operations at Faro Airport with its “biggest-ever schedule” for summer.
The 2023 schedule comprises 47 routes highlighted by eight new services for Aarhus, Barcelona, Belfast, Copenhagen, Exeter, Frankfurt, Rome and Toulouse, and increased frequencies on 12 routes including Cologne, Dublin, Madrid, Marseille, Milan, Newquay and Shannon.
According to the airline, it will operate over 520 weekly flights for summer 2023, representing 20 per cent growth compared with the same high season period last year.
“This unrivalled growth is underpinned by Ryanair’s $1 billion investment in Faro Airport, with 10 based aircraft and supporting over 3,000 jobs in the region.”
To celebrate the anniversary, Ryanair is offering clients the opportunity of booking a summer getaway from €29.99 one way for travel until October 2023, only available on the Ryanair.com website.
“Efficient operations and competitive airport charges provide the foundation from which Ryanair can deliver long-term traffic growth and increased connectivity,” said country manager for Spain and Portugal Elena Cabrera. “We have worked closely with our partners at Faro Airport to secure this growth and improve services for those that live, work, or wish to visit the Algarve.”
Corporate Agreement with Amadeus
Ryanair has also just announced an expansion of its low-fare corporate travel options to include the Amadeus travel platform.
“We are pleased to now be live on the Amadeus travel platform with Ryanair’s unrivalled network of over 3,000 flights to over 235 destinations,” said Ryanair’s Dara Brady, “further expanding Ryanair’s corporate travel offering and enabling corporate customers greater access to our market-leading network of routes, high frequencies, on-time performance and unbeatable low-cost fares. We look forward to working with Amadeus over the coming years as Ryanair grows to carrying 225 million passengers annually by 2026.”
Added Jose-Luis Aragon, Amadeus regional vice president for air distribution in Europe, “We are very happy that Ryanair has chosen to capitalise on Amadeus’ technology to support its distribution strategy. With the integration of its content to the Amadeus travel platform, travel sellers and corporations will have a broader choice of travel options while benefiting from smooth and seamless integration into their everyday tools and processes.”
