Ryanair Launches Low-Fare Sale for Newcastle-Faro Flights in Winter

30th July 2021 By Peter Leonard

Ryanair’s route between Newcastle and Faro is to be extended to the winter season. Coinciding with the announcement, the low-cost airline has launched a special seat sale offering fares from £19.99 for travel until the end of March 2022. They must be booked by midnight on Thursday 5 August, and are only available on the Ryanair.com website.

British holidaymakers and visitors taking advantage of the expanded service also have the option of availing of Ryanair’s zero change fee if forced to change their plans.

“As vaccination rollout programmes continue in the coming months and Europe’s international travel rebounds,” said Ryanair’s director of commercial, Jason McGuinness, “we are delighted to announce the extension of the summer route from Newcastle to Faro throughout the winter season, operating twice weekly from November as part of Ryanair’s British winter 2021 schedule… Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com to avoid missing out.”

Warning About “Bogus Discount Scam”

Earlier this week, Ryanair warned potential clients about the risk of “anti-consumer practices by certain online travel agents” and advised them to book directly through the company’s own website or app.

According to the airline, customers have reported a “bogus discount scam” that encourages them to purchase “discounted” flights through an online travel agent (OTA) and could mean they pay up to 40 per cent more than what Ryanair would charge through its website or app.

“This latest OTA scam is yet another reason why passengers should always book directly,” said Ryanair director of marketing Dara Brady. “Online travel agents are selling our flights but have no commercial agreements with us to do so.”

Brady noted that Ryanair had launched the “Verified Seal” on its website and app “to help customers avoid the pitfalls of booking with online travel agents, who often overcharge and may provide incorrect customer information which prevents Ryanair from dealing directly with its passengers”.
