Jet2 and EasyJet are offering special discounts for holidaymakers planning to visit the Algarve this summer.
Passengers have until 9 May to save up to 20 per cent on EasyJet flights to and from the UK in June. These include the London Gatwick to Faro service, from £27.99.
In total, the low-cost airline is offering discounts for 100,000 seats on selected flights from 1 until 30 June 2023, available to book from today until 8am on Tuesday 9 May at easyJet.com or via the mobile app.
In March, EasyJet reopened its Faro base, with nine A320 aircraft (four based and five not-based) and total capacity of 2.1 million seats, a 15 per cent increase compared with 2022. Operating until the end of October, the base will connect Faro to key European destinations for leisure and business, including Barcelona, Berlin, Milan and Paris.
Meanwhile, Jet2holidays has launched a sale offering £50 off per person on all summer 2023 holidays, while Jet2.com is discounting summer flights by 10 per cent. To be applicable, bookings must be made by 15 May 2023 and travel has to be taken between now and 31 October 2023.
“As we approach our biggest ever summer,” said Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy, “holidaymakers are jumping at the chance to book their flights and package holidays with us. We want to spread even more summer sunshine, so we are delighted to be launching this fantastic offer across our flights and holidays for summer 2023. With £50 per person off summer 2023 holidays and 10 per cent off flights coming just in time for payday, we know this is going to be a huge hit with holidaymakers.”
Faro Airport’s other main low-cost UK operator, Ryanair, has previously announced its own expanded summer schedule, highlighted by multiple weekly flights between Faro and Aberdeen, Teesside, Cardiff and Exeter, as well as services for Barcelona, Rome and Toulouse.
In other news, Canadian airline Air Transat has announced that, starting this month, it expects to operate up to 18 direct flights per week linking Portugal and Canada, including one weekly flight between Faro and Toronto.
Overall, according to Portuguese airport operator ANA Aeroportos de PortugalVINCI Airports, Faro Airport will have 18 new routes this summer, including six completely new destinations and 12 existing routes but now operated by more airlines – thus increasing and consolidating the Algarve region’s connectivity.
