EasyJet has announced a ticket sale for 12 summer routes including a new service linking Southampton and Faro airports. Due to be launched on 6 June, the Southampton flights will be operated once a week on Thursdays throughout the peak summer season. Tickets are now available from £47.99 on the easyJet.com website and via the low-cost airline’s mobile app.
“We’re delighted to be launching 12 new routes and package holidays from eight of our airports across the U.K. to a fantastic range of leisure destinations,” said U.K. country manager Ali Gayward, “offering even more choice and connectivity to our customers all across the U.K., whether they’re planning a holiday to Spain’s sunny coast or Tunisia’s beach town Enfidha as well as even more connections from the U.K. to beach favourites Malta, Faro and Cyprus.”
Southampton Airport has added a 164-metre (538-foot) extension between its existing runway and the northern boundary fence. Completed in September, the extended tarmac enables larger planes, including the Airbus 320 and Boeing 737, to use the airport.
Matt Hazelwood, chief commercial officer at AGS Airports, which owns Southampton Airport, said, “The introduction of these two services by EasyJet (to Faro, as well as to Alicante on 31 March) is brilliant news for the airport, city and wider region.
“We embarked on our recently completed runway extension project to ensure the future viability of the airport. Attracting more routes and services to Southampton is key to the airport’s future success and I am pleased to see that our plans are beginning to bear fruit. These two services will deliver even greater choice and flexibility for our customers and are hopefully just the first of many to arrive at Southampton Airport.”
Early Bookings for Bristol and Manchester
EasyJet previously announced other details of its summer 2024 schedule, with seats to 132 destinations from the U.K. available to book between 3 June and 1 September 2024. These include Bristol to Faro from £40.99 and Manchester to Faro from £40.99.

London Southend Airport has also announced that EasyJet will be offering flights to Faro Airport from 1 May next year.
Special Travel Gifts with Advent(ure) Calendar
EasyJet and EasyJet Holidays have brought back their Advent(ure) Calendar. A limited-edition product, the calendar features 12 drawers each containing special travel gifts to be enjoyed in 2024, such as four pairs of return flights, vouchers to spend on an EasyJet Holidays package holiday, access for No1 and Aspire airport lounges, vouchers to use on the onboard “Eat.Drink.Shop” range, and car hire with CarTrawler.
This year’s edition also introduces a new “Golden Ticket” for an EasyJet Holidays package for two with Iberostar Hotels and Resorts. Hidden in four select calendars, the package includes flights and transfers, as well as 23 kilograms of luggage per person.
New Bag Collection Service at London Gatwick
EasyJet is now offering bag collection, delivery and door-to-door services for passengers on flights from London Gatwick.
The service has been arranged in partnership with baggage collection and delivery specialist Airportr, and has been initially introduced for customers flying from London Gatwick as well as Geneva. It will also be included for easyJet FLEXI fare customers.
Passengers on London Gatwick flights can now check in their bags from a designated pick-up point (home office or hotel, for example), where it will be collected by an accredited driver, and can then be collected from the baggage belt on arrival at their destination.
The service is available for flights to any of EasyJet’s destinations across Europe, from £37 at www.airportr.com/en/easyjet. The first 300 customers will receive 30 per cent off their booking by using the code: 30OFFAIRPORTRLAUNCH
